Inverness and Cromarty Firth Freeport tax sites get parliamentary approval

Harbour Gate Phase 2

The Chief Executive of the Port of Inverness, Sinclair Browne has welcomed the news that the tax sites in the Green Freeport are now established in law.

“Its wonderful to get the seal of approval for the Green Freeport. This is a fantastic opportunity to build on our already strong position in onshore wind to become the European centre for offshore wind and other green technologies. In the case of Inverness we are working on some really exciting developments in the new sectors. The Freeport opens up investment which will help support our plans and across the region will bring thousands of high quality, well paid jobs. This is a real chance to regenerate the Highlands, retain our young people and encourage others to move here.”
