The MV Quinag, a 62-metre wellboat operated by Migdale Transport Ltd of Bonar Bridge, has been alongside Berth No. 4 at Longman Quay since Wednesday 10th June for a planned engineering overhaul. She departed on Saturday 18th July.

The vessel plays an important role in Scotland’s aquaculture industry, transporting live salmon, smolts and other fish safely between sites across mainland Scotland, Shetland, Orkney and the north of England.

During her stay, the MV Quinag has undergone a major overhaul of her main engines, generators and ancillary equipment, with all engineering works progressing successfully and remaining on schedule.

Built in 2009, the 1,226 GRT twin-well vessel has a 1,200m³ carrying capacity and is equipped with advanced monitoring and handling systems to ensure the safe transport of live fish. Designed for smolt transfers, fish grading and treatment operations, she is an integral part of supporting Scotland’s world-leading aquaculture sector.

We’re pleased to support Migdale Transport Ltd during this important maintenance period and look forward to seeing the MV Quinag back in service soon.
