First of two gantries being lifted into position beneath Kessock Bridge
Notice to Mariners No.6 of 2015 (Updated 28th April 2016).
Kessock Bridge - Reduction of Air Draught
BEAR SCOTLAND have intimated the actual start of the works.
EARLIER commencement date
Effective 09th May 2016, for an eight week period.
The current navigational Air Draught clearance of 29.0m (above MHWS) below the bridge, will be reduced to 25.79m(above MHWS).
Bear Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland require during this time, to erect two gantries overside on the bridge, at midpoint of navigational span.
The work is to replace all eight mass tuned dampers on the bridge. Dampers require to be raised/lowered from work barge below mid span. These lifts will wherever possible, be carried out around low water slack.
All vessels to keep a listening watch on VHF Ch12.
