Inverness is first call on ship’s maiden voyage

Picture showing the presentation of an Inverness Harbour Trust plaque on 18th July by Captain Ken Maclean, Harbour Master, to Captain Albert Brouwer, Owner / Master of the Gibraltar registered, general cargo vessel “TRITON”.  The presentation was made to mark the maiden voyage of the vessel, carrying wind turbine towers for the Moy Windfarm project, from Rostock, Germany to Inverness.

The Triton was built in the Netherlands and is 90 metres length overall with a beam of 15.2 metres and a maximum loaded draft of 5.68 metres.  The gross tonnage of the vessel is 3,450 tonnes and it has a maximum speed of 12 knots.

Also in the picture is Richard Platts, Senior Manager - Projects and Shipping, of Abnormal Load Services, who were shipping agents for the vessel’s call at Inverness.
